Breaking barriers, riding waves

Oana Ebikon & Vierwaldstädtersee (Switzerland)

Spring & Summer 2024

Organisation & Realisation

Inclusion & Community

With NOMB Changes, we create space for various and diverse surfing adventures and experiences. With Waves of Inclusion, we aim to provide a unique and inclusive para-surfing experience for people with physical and/or mental disabilities in landlocked Switzerland, both on the standing wave and wake surfing on the lake.

Waves of Inclusion is not just about physical activity; it also aims to promote social integration, self-efficacy, and the sense of community. In collaboration with the SwissWaveAcademy, we strive to break down barriers and create unforgettable moments of shared surfing and experience.

NOMB Changes seeks to bring a holistic perspective to surfing, focusing not only on physical activity but also on fostering self-confidence, self-esteem, and personal growth.

Waves of Inclusion includes two dates for inclusive surfing on the standing wave in Oana Ebikon (one Friday evening in March and one in April 2024) and one date for inclusive surfing on Lake Lucerne (one Saturday morning in the summer of 2024). The exact dates will be announced via our social media channels as well as through our newsletter (subscribe below).

What will happen at the para surf events

To create a safe and supportive environment for all participants at the respective surf events, certified lifeguards and surf instructors will be present. These surf days will be designed to be barrier-free to enable unrestricted participation.

We aim to make participation possible for all interested individuals. If you are interested in attending one (or even both) of the Para Surf events, simply get in touch with us. In an informative preliminary discussion, we will determine how and whether your participation is feasible. We welcome every inquiry and will do our best to get you into the waves.

The fee for participation is 120 CHF (per event) and covers all materials as well as professional instruction. To ensure energy levels are maintained, snacks and drinks will be provided.

For the standing wave sessions, we gather in the early evening for a welcome meeting, hit the wave, and then conclude the evening in a relaxed atmosphere with snacks and drinks.

For the lake surfing, we meet in the morning directly in Beckenried at Lake Lucerne. After a safety introduction, we board the boat and ride the wave. Snacks, drinks, and great vibes are guaranteed.

As we aim to make the Para Surf events accessible to everyone in Switzerland, we rely on your donations to keep the participation fee reasonable. If you would like to support these fantastic events with a donation, you can do so here.

If you would love to participate but the participation fee is too high for you, through donations, we have the opportunity to make the surfing experience accessible to you as well. Just reach out to us.
