In September co-founder Angie and Chicken are taking part in a 30 days surf challenge to raise money for families in remote surf communities. This surf challenge is like running a marathon for charity but surfing daily. Not a bad idea we think.
They will surf every day all throughout September. Chicken will surf in O’ahu (Hawaii) while Angie will surf in Fuerteventura and Galicia (Spain). For Chicken this is her first time taking part, Angie is in her 4th year of support.
The surf challenge is organized by Surfaid, an Australian NGO whos mission to ‘improve the health, wellbeing and resilience of families living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing’.

Surfaid specialises in working in very isolated villages where the maternal and child mortality rates are some of the highest in the world. They work with each individual community to affect long term behaviour change, and believe that working with communities to develop their own solutions is the most effective form of aid. A hand up rather than a hand out. We share their believes.
Our Team The Shredders
We here at NOMB Changes strongly believe in the importance of every single action. However, we also know that alone we are a drop, together we are an ocean. Therefore we gonna bring them all together, a whole team of ocean lovers who, like us, love to get involved. As the team The Shredders we surf together, motivate each other and (hopefully) enhance our impact. You can follow our surfing effords on social media and cheers for us from the sideline.
Our Mission
Using surfing as a tool, we plan, implement, and support projects to drive education, evolution, and change in nature, the ocean, and both mind and body.
While we organize and realize our own projects, we also strive to support other NGOs who share the same believes and follow the same mission. We are impressed with Surfaid's efford to change the situation for communities in remote surf locations, and are stoked to contribute our small part from the other side of the planet.
